L’Oreal Seafleur & Evangeline’s Red Colour Riche Review

I LOVE L’Oreal products and have since 1987 when I was in high school.  I have been a professional makeup artist for almost 20 years now, and L’Oreal is still one of the best makeup lines around, and is always in my kit.

Thanks to a great deal on L’Oreal at CVS (see my post) I picked up an old favorite and a new favorite.  My old favorite is Seafleur, an irridescent pink/purple/red blend.  Actually, Seafleur is the first L’Oreal product I ever purchased.  Back in the mid ’80’s when Fashion Fairs Chocolate Raspberry lipstick was all the rage, the lower expensive option for high school students were L’Oreal Seafleur and Wet n’ Wild #521.

One of the things I like most about L’Oreal Colour Riche Lipsticks besides the color is that it is really moisturizing and doesn’t dry lips out.  Seafleur is great for using alone, or layer over a nice red lip stain for a bit of pop!  As a matter of fact, it looks fantastic on top of the NYC Lipstain.

My “new”find was Evangeline’s Red.  A gorgeous blue based red color.  It has a perfect balance and is a must have red regardless if the skin tone is pale or really dark.  Evangeline’s Red is definitely a new permanent addition to my kit.

L’Oreal Colour Riche Lipstick $1.68

CVS has a great deal this week on L’Oreal!  All Colour Riche lipsticks $5, Studio Secrets & HIP eyeshadows and Mascaras $6 each.  Also, if you spend $10, you get $3 extra bucks back.

So, since I LOVE L’Oreal and had coupons for $2 off any L’Oreal lip color and eye products, I treated myself and my kit to some new and old favorites.  I got 2 Colour Riche Lipsticks (630 Seafleur & 320 Evangeline’s Red) which totalled $10 before tax. Minus my coupons which totalled $4, my out of pocket was only $6 for both.  But, with the $3 extra bucks, that brought my cost for the two lipsticks to only $3.16.

Same thing for the shadows and mascara.  $24 before tax, minus $8 in coupons and $6 extra bucks, my total for 2 mascaras and 2 eyeshadows $10! $2.50 each!

Revlon Nail Polish Free

Revlon has always been one of my favorite cosmetics brands, and while looking for new summer colors, I found a special at CVS Drugs.  The Revlon nail polish is $4.99 – $4 reward coupon (used towards you next purchase) which leaves the final price at $.99.  If you have the $1/1 coupons (I got mine from a coupon tear pad at the store), your final price is $0.00!

While they did have some awesome new colors, I  had to get one of my all time favorites which is Cherries in the Snow! My new color added was an awesome yellow, Electric.

I didn’t use all of my coupons, because I want to hold on to a few for some other Revlon items that might go on sell soon.

SIDE NOTE

I love the Revlon Colorstay Makeup (my personal color is Mahogany).  It really gives excellent coverage, while remaining flexible and light.  It doesn’t cake up, and actually, I don’t use an additional concealer, I just dab a litter extra Colorstay foundation where I need, as it is really pigment rich.

Pantene 2 for $2

For those of you who got a coupon on May 1, 2011 for $3 off 2 Pantene products, now is a great time to use it at CVS.  At CVS, all Pantene is on BOGO special. So with my $3 coupon, my total for shampoo and conditioner was $2.24, thanks to sales tax of $0.76.
